Are Years meals gluten-free?Updated 13 days ago
They most certainly are!
Gluten is a protein found only in certain grains like wheat, barley, and rye and we don't use any grains in our recipes.
Instead of grains or other fillers, we use quinoa and buckwheat, protein-rich seeds with impressive health benefits:
🌱 Why Quinoa?
Quinoa isn’t just a trendy superfood — it’s a powerhouse ingredient that supports your dog’s wellbeing in multiple ways:
- 💪 Complete protein: Contains all ten essential amino acids dogs need for muscle development and overall health.
- 🌾Gentle on digestion: Easy to digest, making it ideal for dogs with sensitive stomachs or digestive issues.
- ☀️Packed with nutrients: Rich in protein, fibre, iron, magnesium, and zinc — all vital for energy, immunity, and vitality.
- 🚫Naturally gluten-free: A safe alternative for dogs with gluten sensitivities or allergies.
- 💖Low glycaemic index: Helps regulate blood sugar, which may benefit dogs with diabetes or insulin resistance.
- 🐕Anti-inflammatory properties: Contains antioxidants and polyphenols that may help reduce inflammation, supporting dogs with arthritis or other inflammatory conditions.
🌾 Why Buckwheat?
We’ve always loved quinoa in our recipes – but new evidence shows buckwheat may be the superior choice for your dog’s gut health
- 🌱 Natural prebiotic that nourishes the gut microbiome
- 💪 Contains all 20 amino acids, including the 10 essentials dogs need – making it a complete protein for muscle strength and immune support
- 🌾 Rich in fibre to aid digestion and prevent constipation
