Puppies have specific dietary requirements during their rapid growth phase. And Years puppy meals are specifically designed to provide everything they need to support their development,. When your pup reaches 12 months we will recommend an adult plan

Puppies have specific dietary requirements&#xA0;during their rapid growth phase. And Years puppy meals are specifically designed to provide everything they need to support their&#xA0;development,When your pup reaches 12 months we will recommend an adult plan for them. This new plan will reflect the reduction in calories that comes when a puppy has finished growing and will also switch from Puppy meals to Adult meals.It&apos;s important to recognise that every dog is different and not every dog finishes growing at exactly 12 months - so if your dog is still in their growing phase at 12 months you can easily keep them on their puppy plan &#xA0;- just reject the suggested plan. But don&apos;t worry - the next time you log in to their dashboard we will suggest the puppy plan again, just select it when the time is right. Alternatively - if you know your dog has finished growing before the 12 month point, we can easily switch to an adult plan ahead of schedule - at the moment we need you&#xA0;<a href="https://help.years.com/en-GB/how-do-i-get-in-touch-374172" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">drop a message to the Customer team</a> and they can make the change for you.&#xA0; As a rough guide, smaller breeds tend to finish growing earlier than larger breeds: &#x1F436; General Growth Timeline by Size:&#xA0;- Small breeds (e.g. Chihuahuas, Toy Poodles) stop growing around 8&#x2013;12 months.&#xA0;- Medium breeds (e.g. Border Collies, Staffies and Cocker Spaniels, ) stop growing around 12&#x2013;15 months.&#xA0;- Large breeds (e.g. Labs, Golden Retrievers) stop growing around 15&#x2013;18 months.&#xA0;- Giant breeds (e.g. Great Danes, Mastiffs) may continue growing until 18&#x2013;24 months.

Puppies need a diet rich in calories, protein, calcium, and DHA (for brain development), adult dogs need a diet balanced for maintenance rather than growth. Overfeeding puppy food in adulthood can lead to obesity. But don&apos;t worry!&#xA0; With Years, we do all the hard work for you - all you need to do is keep your puppy&apos;s details up to date in their dashboard and we will build the perfect plan for them. &#xA0;(you don&apos;t need to update their age - this will happen automatically). When your pup reaches 12 months, the next time you log into their dashboard you will be presented with a recommendation to switch to an adult plan.
