Why Is There More Liquid in My Dog’s Meals?Updated a day ago

You might notice that some trays contain more liquid than others — and that’s totally normal! Here’s why:

🥩 It’s Real Food, Not Factory Filler

Our meals are handmade using fresh, natural ingredients — not the uniform, processed stuff you find in typical dog food. That means every tray is unique, and variations in texture and moisture are expected.

🌡️ Temperature Plays a Big Role

The amount of liquid can change depending on how the meals are stored:

  • Warm environments cause the natural fats and oils to become more fluid.
  • Cooler temperatures make those same oils solidify or crystallise.

As the seasons shift — especially when heating comes on in autumn — you might see meals looking a bit more liquid than usual.

💧 Don’t Toss the Good Stuff!

That liquid is packed with nutrients from the meat, fish, fruits, and veggies. It’s all part of the goodness your dog deserves, so we recommend keeping it in the bowl.

❄️ Prefer a Firmer Texture?

If your dog prefers less liquid, simply pop the tray in the fridge overnight before serving. It’ll firm up nicely and still deliver all the flavour and nutrition.
