What happens to my puppy's plan when they become an adult?Updated 6 hours ago

When your puppy stops growing, their nutritional requirements change -  so it's important that their Years Complete Nutrition Plan changes too.
Puppies need a diet rich in calories, protein, calcium, and DHA (for brain development), adult dogs need a diet balanced for maintenance rather than growth.
Overfeeding puppy food in adulthood can lead to obesity.

But don't worry!
With Years, we do all the hard work for you - all you need to do is keep your puppy's details up to date in their dashboard and we will build the perfect plan for them.
(you don't need to update their age - this will happen automatically).

When your pup reaches 12 months, the next time you log into their dashboard you will be presented with a recommendation to switch to an adult plan.
On a laptop or tablet, it looks like this:

And on a phone, it looks like this:

Once you select the "Switch to adult plan" button, you'll be asked to confirm your dog's details, and then you'll be presented with the new plan for you to either approve, or reject and stay on the current puppy plan.
You can see that in this example, the calorie requirement has reduced following the transition into adulthood:

NB: Small breeds can reach adulthood before 12 months and Large breeds may keep growing for longer than 12 months - if in doubt please reach out to our Customer team for advice.
